As the word grows…the church grows

Revelation caused grow by grace by the Spirit of God.

Acts 6:7, “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

Increased is “augment” in imperfect tense. Imperfect tense meaning to augment over and over again.

Prior to Acts 6:7. The apostles gave themselves over continually to prayer and the ministry of the word. This tells me there is a need for the office and function of the apostle for church growth. That is how it grew in Acts. Why has this changed? Has it? Eph. 4:11-16

Acts 6:4, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”

Acts 12:24, “But the word of God grew and multiplied.”
