Sound doctrine remains

Today, 07/07/09, a sister in the Lord told me she went to a church and the minister was preaching on tithing. She said she enjoyed the first thirty minutes and then the sermon started and her spiritual inspiration seemed to dissipate. What caught my attention was what she said. She said, “When you share things they stick.” This reminds me of Romans 6:17, “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” Sound doctrine remains.

My paraphrase from the Greek of Rom. 6:17, “But God be thanked, that you were under the law which is the power of sin prior to Christ being unveiled, but now have been effected by sound doctrine in the revelation of Christ  insomuch that it has a passive effect on you. The passive effect is willingness from the heart. The willingness is Him in you by His enabling ability called grace.”
