Shadow and substance

Quote from The substance of His will,

Hebrews 10:1 says, “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect (they will not fully mature).”

In the Aramaic, where the verse says “not the very image of the things” it says “not the substance of His will.” I read this last night and thought this is what creates the “very image of the things” is the substance of His will.

In 2 Cor. 5:17, it says if any man be in Christ he is a new creation. The old has gone the new has come. How is this possible? By grace. It is the power to him that believes. Believing in the One sent from the Father. The substance of His will creates and initiates every aspect of being and thought. Paul says, “That He (the Father) may reveal Christ in me.” In that revelation, there is an unveiling of His purpose and will individually and universally for the Church. This “substance” is His nature imparted by grace through faith worked out in godly, unconditional, unearthly, never-failing, everlasting love. Christ says, “And by that they will know you are My disciples.” Not by head knowledge, bible memorization, miracles, success, but by His love! God is love and truth. Jesus is the truth and the Son of Love. This purpose now manifests in those who believe in Him and grows by grace. Faith comes by hearing from the heart and hearing the quickened word with the heart. This quickened word deposits and does not return void, but fulfills the purpose of the Sender. It manifests the substance of the Sender’s will by revelation and grace acting out in faith and love with all willingness because of the change and affect on the heart and motive.

Jesus is the Word become flesh. He brought and is the Word. Now, this word is in us. This word is eternal substance that last into the life to come. It imparts righteousness and power. The substance does not hinge on me or my works. It is grace and no more of  works.

Quote from The substance of His will,

If will and motive is redirected everything else follows.

Romans 6:16-17, “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin [leading] to death, or of obedience [leading] to righteousness? But God be thanked that [though] you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered”
