Rom. 10:10 – Passive effect of the utterance of God

Romans 10:10, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

I believe with my heart and confess (homologeo) with my mouth because God spoke.

Isa. 55:11, “So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.”

Rom. 4:3, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

When God speaks and His word goes from His mouth it is “the substance of things hope for and evidence of things not yet seen” in the hearer’s heart, Heb. 11:3.

He speaks many things. Here are some.

  • His good, perfect and well-pleasing will
  • Love
  • Truth
  • Prophetic
  • Power
  • Faith
  • Hope
  • Blessing
  • Peace
