Misplaced

Something misplaced is lost that was previously owned. I was thinking about what Paul said in Philippians.

Phil. 3:9, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”

Being found can not only mean having identity, but also being redeemed or bought back.

Luke 15:6, “And when he cometh home, he calleth together [his] friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.”

The sheep was originally part of the flock.

Luke 15:9, “And when she hath found [it], she calleth [her] friends and [her] neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

She found her misplaced piece of silver.

Luke 15:24, “For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.”

The son was restored back to his original family.

Ephesians 1:3-6, “3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
