John doubting


Matthew 11:3, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” John the Baptist probably was pitted out needless to say. In prison, about to be decapitated. His eyes began to focus on what he saw and not on what he had been preaching. Vain thoughts and imaginations were creeping in. So, John responded to the thoughts and not faith.

Jesus’ reply…awesome, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:” He didn’t say, “Uh yeah, John it’s me dude.” The the Lord references what He had been doing so John will believe by faith since these things were prophesied about.

Matthew 11:5-6, “”The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.

Then in Matthew 11:15, “”He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
