Rev. 2:17
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].”
This may be the million dollar question to every person on the planet, “Who am I?” Another similar one, “What is my purpose?” or “Where did I come from?”
The Word says, “We have understanding by faith.” This understanding permeates the soul from our spirit which in turn is quickened by the Spirit of Truth through grace. 1 Cor. 15:45 says, “The last Adam [was made] a quickening spirit.” The epiphanic knowledge of the Last Adam is in the believer now, Gal. 1:16. So, we have understanding by faith.
Paul says in Phil. 3:9-11, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith OF Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
In Col. 3:3, “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
In 1 Cor. 15:10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am:“
It seems that when Christ reveals Himself, He is also reflecting the true you. Christ is the tupos for us. Tupos in the Greek means blueprint, example, or pattern. When I see Christ in the mirror, I am seeing my blueprint, DNA, and purpose. Jesus knew and knows all men’s hearts. When He saw Peter He knew who Peter was before even meeting Peter. He knew Peter before Peter was born.
John says in John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The beginning here is eons in eternity’s past. An eon in astronomy is equivalent to one billion years.
Okay, I hope you see this like I did and have seen again from time to time. Read this slowly. Let it minister to you. It is easy to intellectualize anything and miss it.
One night, I was lying down about to go to sleep and the Lord told me, “You have always been who you are.”
IN Him, I was and really am. I have ALWAYS been who I am in Him. Well, that’s nice. One more time, I have always been who I am in Him! Before I was born, I am! In the beginning was the Word, and so was I (here come the tomatoes. Throw ’em. I’ll put them in my spaghetti and thank the Lord for fresh tomatoes.) When I began to receive this revelation by understanding through faith it went to an indescribable, eternal-type depth in my inner man. I am rooted, grounded, and established in Him. Growing in this knowledge, I am aware of the Creator and my purpose.
There, the million dollar question is answered. The answer is a gift and free of charge. He said, “Charge it to my account.” So, my name is _______ in Christ.
