  • To eat or not to eat the apple?

Rom. 5:13, “For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.”

Well, that’s nice. What does it mean? I read this almost 15 years ago and it jumped off the pages in me. I read it again and again. It recently came to life with so much depth again. By the way, if the bible was a pool how deep would it be? Do we really know the end of the universe? Really? Come ‘on.

Here is where I may sound heretical, but I am in good company. This has changed my life (unto godliness) and I believe can change the world through the His Body, the Church. In Christ, my sins are no longer imputed, charged, or reckoned to my account. Christ nailed the punishment of every sin I committed knowingly or ignorantly to His cross. He did this before I was in mother’s womb. In the Father’s plan and according to His purpose, He did it prior to Adam being created.

Rev. 13:8, “And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” John also says, “In the beginning was the Word.” Jesus says, “He is the beginning and the end.” Here is the point, my forgiveness is absolute in every sense of the word and more. Let’s go back to the garden of Eden. God said, “Not to eat the fruit of tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” Both Adam or ‘Iysh and ‘Ishshah (later Eve) were not cognizant of the contrast of good and evil. Sin did not exist, but sin still reigned. Who is ‘Ishshah? This was the first name of the woman prior to the Fall. Post-Fall, her name was “Eve” or “mother of all living.” ‘Iysh is man.

Again, they both were not cognizant, conscious, or informed what sin was because the Law had not been given yet through Moses (not yet born) to show what sin actually was. There was this other knowledge though that did exist. It existed at the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Remember, they did not know the difference between good or evil. Who happened to be at this tree? The enemy. The word for serpent in the Hebrew can be a noun, adjective, or adverb. It can be defined as serpent, crafty or shiny one (like shiny brass.) Huh? Shiny brass? That’s what I thought. The word is either nachash or nahash. Also, in the Hebrew mind words are more functional in description than pictorial. Read the link from this site about ancient Hebrew, AHLB. So, the being who may have looked like a snake (or acted like one), or who was shiny like brass (look up what Lucifer means), or both, approached ‘Ishshah and deceived her. Something about him must have gotten her attention. Possibly, the way he looked? I couldn’t see ‘Ishshah being attracted to a snake or muscular snake. I could see her being attracted to an Adam-like man though. That is only my opinion. Need to make an obvious point here. The enemy did not like man who was God’s creation of love. He does not like me or you either.

So, she eats the fruit. Now, Adam eats the fruit, but why? ‘Ishshah was deceived, but Adam willfully ate the fruit! Why? Through deception which is the nature of sin. At the tree of the knowledge of good and evil the knowledge of the distinction between good and evil was imparted from the enemy to man. Immediately, there eyes were opened and they realized they were naked. God then says, “They have now become like one of us.” Prior to eating the fruit, God could not say this. He does not lie or change His mind. Due to this knowledge, man is separated from God and was without redemption. Man needed to be bought back by a Redeemer. Only One Person could do it.

Heb. 10:7, “Then I said, ‘Here I am–it is written about me in the scroll – I have come to do your will, O God.’ ” The Father sent His only begotten. His only Son. In Christ, Col. 3:10 now happens, “And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:” Renewed by the revelation of Christ by grace in the knowledge of Him that created him, the Last Adam. Also, Adam walked with God in the garden. Christ says He is the First and the Last. If we are renewed in the knowledge of Him according to the original pattern which is what my Dake’s bible tells me in the footnotes then we are like ‘Iysh and ‘Ishshah prior to the Fall, but with His redeeming power now living and growing in us daily.

Heb. 5:14 occurs now, “But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” What is strong meat? My guess is that it isn’t old tough meat, but it is revelation of Him. Hebrews says our conscience has been purged through the Christ’s eternal sacrifice. IN Christ, our conscience is like ‘Iysh and ‘Ishshah prior to the Fall. They did not know what sin was and neither do we. IN Christ, I am a new creation and His grace teaches me to say no to ungodliness. No, I am not perfect in this (ask my wife), but I am growing in Him and see it in my life everyday and week.

Titus 2:11-12, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;”

Last thing. I remember I was riding my bike one day and was troubled in my heart. I was having a pity party, feeling sorry for myself, groveling, and not liking myself. Then the Lord told me, “My Forgiveness is bigger than your unforgiveness towards yourself.” It rang in my spiritual ear for a while. The enemy can accuse, people can accuse, but ultimately I am the self-accuser and shouldn’t be. Who is he that condemns? Rom. 8:34

1 Cor. 4:3, “But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.”

  • If I was blind who could I see much less believe?

Heb. 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Rom. 8:24, “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?”

1 Pet. 1:7-8, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:”

Rom. 4:20-21, “He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; and being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

So, what is faith? Heb. 11:1

It is the framework, reality, support, assurance, confidence, guarantee, and title-deed of things unseen.

It is a fruit of the Spirit, Gal. 5:22.

Christ is the Apostle of our faith or profession.

Everyone is given the measure of faith. We can put our faith into fear and fear will come upon one’s self.

You cannot have hope without faith because hope predicates and hinges on faith. Christ is the also the Hope of Glory. Hope in the Greek means “eager expectation.” Faith creates an increase of eager expectation constantly. The substance of faith creates habitual expectation.

Faith is not based on emotions, the weather, the way my body feels, anyone’s (including mine) approval, wealth, or performance.

By faith we have understanding. This faith is His faith.

Faith comes by hearing God’s Word. The Word is living and active. When living or quickened word called rhema is heard and received, faith comes. This could also be revelation or knowledge revealed. As more rhema or logos is received faith grows. If the Word that is delivered is mixed with a doctrine of works the faith is diluted and weak. Hence then need for sound doctrine.

Faith is also proof or evidence. The manifestation of this fruit in the life of a believer is a witness and is evidence. Paul mentions the gospel he received was by revelation of Christ. This revelation is an ever-increasing faith experience that ends on the other side of the universe. If our faith is a fruit of the Spirit who is the Spirit of Jesus and of the Father then our faith should be the God-kind of faith. Question. Who does God put His faith in? No one. He already knows. That is the God-kind of faith. These three remain: faith, hope, and love. The greatest is love. Faith through Love. In Him, I have understanding of this Love by faith.

  • Worn Out? Sick and tired of being sick tired?

Have you ever seen these signs before?

“Wet paint. Do not touch.” “Speed limit 65 mph.” “Walk.” “Don’t walk.”

Romans 7:12, “Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”

Do we really need signs that say these things? Some people might say, “No, not really.” Well we obviously do. The bible talks about the Law (the do’s and don’ts, technically the Old Covenant) as our schoolmaster. The Greek word for schoolmaster is paidagogos. Here is the Blueletterbible.org definition,

A tutor i.e. a guardian and guide of boys. Among the Greeks and the Romans the name was applied to trustworthy slaves who were charged with the duty of supervising the life and morals of boys belonging to the better class. The boys were not allowed so much as to step out of the house without them before arriving at the age of manhood.

Schoolmaster here is taken from Galatians 3:23, “But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.” Remember when you were a child or do you have children? When a child doesn’t obey the family rules what happens? Depending on the family, a few things could happen. Nothing, discipline, punishment, praise, etc. For this example, let’s say the child goes to timeout for hitting their sibling just because they wanted to. As a child or adult I do not desire to be someone’s hitting dummy. The child goes to timeout for a little while. They come out of timeout and the parent explains why and hopefully there is some understanding of why you don’t hit your sibling. There is a difference between not wanting to hit the sibling and not wanting to break the family law.

So, do I not touch the wet paint because I don’t want to? Or because the sign says not to? Does it matter? You better believe it does. If I live my life by do’s and don’ts and not by understanding then I am somewhat superficial wouldn’t you say? The Greek word for dissimulation or hypocrisy is hypokrisis.

Hypokrisis means the following: primarily, “a reply,” came to mean “the acting of a stage-player,” because such answered one another in dialogue; hence the meaning “dissembling or pretense.” A stage player in a theatrical sense could also be a clown. A clown wears a mask of makeup and acts a certain role. This is what the word means. It is what Paul used to describe what he saw in Antioch among the brethren namely Peter and Barnabas.

Galatians 2:13, “And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.” It seems that Christianity is generally viewed like this sometimes. Paul says, “Having a form of godliness yet denying its power.” It looks like it, but it ain’t it. It is only a form. Perhaps like Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Catholicism, Scientology, Zoroastrianism, and so on. Jesus said He is the Way. The only way to the Holy of Holies. He is the Good Shepherd. Also, in Western Christian denominations this is apparent besides Catholicism. So, can I be saved and be a Baptist, Catholic even Buddhist? I would say yes, but If you are Buddhist, Scientologist, Catholic, or whatever and Christ is your savior then why are you going back under a law or the law? That is what these other religions preach along with asceticism, individual performance, intellectualism, philosophy, only science (although science can be good and typically supports the Truth anyways), assumption, doctrines of angels, gnosticism, etc. Christ gives us rest. He is the Lord of the sabbath.

The purposes of the schoolmaster or law are these:

This is part of what Jesus did on His cross and gives depth of meaning to Ephesians 2:14-16, Colossians 2:14-15, Galatians 3:18, and so many more.

So, then how I am justified? By the faith of Jesus Christ.

What do I have to do? Nothing.

Continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. Read the Book of Acts. See what they did. Read more of this site. Corinthians speaks of gifts. Ephesians speaks of offices or functions. We all have a specific purpose and gift only we can give IN Christ that can bless the world. Whatever it is it will be something you enjoy. It will fulfill, affirm, and establish you as you grow in it. The Holy Spirit will witness to your spirit about what you are doing. It will involve helping or ministering to people. It will use all of your potential and more than you thought you had. Once you are growing in it, other people will want what you have, but that is not the motive. It is a natural side effect and nothing more.

  • Be a tree

For the sake of clarity, the term “be a tree” is metaphorical. So, don’t go and start eating fertilizer and mulch.

Galatians 2:18, “For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.”

The things which were destroyed are a reference to keeping all of the Old Covenant. Under the Old Covenant you were under obligation to perform all of the Law’s requirements. If you didn’t then you were under a curse. In Romans, Paul says we are under grace.

Galatians 3:10, “For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.”

I am so glad I don’t have to keep the Law, but in the past I have. Romans 2:15, speaks of a law written on the hearts of non-Jewish people. Sounds like everyone is under some sort of law. Either the Old Covenant or the law of one’s heart prior to knowing Christ. Then according to scripture, if I obey what I think is right in my heart does that justify me? Then why did Jesus die? This goes back to another question. Is Christ your savior and did He really exist? If He was born of virgin, died, resurrected and is now glorified in heaven then HE is the one that justifies. We cannot justify ourselves apart from Christ. The bible says He is our righteousness and has fulfilled ALL of the Law within us! Amen! Thank you Lord. When He nailed His body to the cross (not the Romans), He also nailed sin and its power, the Law. Therefore, the Galatians 2:20 occurs.

“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

Jesus said a seed must die in order to bear fruit, John 12:24. Who I was prior to Christ is not who I am IN Him. Who I am IN Him did not exist in the flesh prior to Christ revealing Himself to me. The life I live now is by HIS Faith not mine. It is my faith IN Him, but not mine solely. The Galatians 2:20 translation above is the King James version. This verse translation is more accurate to the revelation when it states, “by the faith OF the Son of God.” The faith OF is different than putting faith into. It is His work within us. So, this leads into, “be a tree.” A tree does not try to bear fruit. It does not complain. It does not worry about tomorrow. It doesn’t get up and run when there is a drought. It is a tree. It doesn’t feel guilty if I didn’t help the old lady across the street or give the beggar some money. It naturally bears fruit and gives freely. Be a tree IN Him by the faith OF Him.

  • An oracle within

    oracle:
    4. a person who delivers authoritative, wise, or highly regarded and influential pronouncements.
    5. a divine communication or revelation.
    6. any person or thing serving as an agency of divine communication.

Christ is the oracle within the beloved. He is the divine communication and revelation who delivers authoritative, wise, and highly regarded influential pronouncements. He is the Deliverer. He delivers because He is. Speaking of the gospel Paul says in Galatians 1:12, “For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught [it], but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Again in Galatians 1:15-16, “But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called [me] by his grace, to reveal his Son in me

Paul is speaking of a knowledge that has been kept hidden since the foundations of world. It is revealed by grace and not because we are individually special although we are in His eyes. Even so, He is impartial. That is His nature because He is love. His love is non-partisan and just. It keeps no record of wrongs so how could anyone be any better than someone else if no one in Him has a negative record? That which was against us an contrary to us was nailed to the His cross in His flesh and taken out of the way creating one new man, Him.

This new man that Ephesians and other epistles mention is the revelation of Him IN us. Peter says in 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and forever. Amen.” The word knowledge is the Greek word gnosis. It means “knowledge gained by experience.” The strengthened form of this word is epignosis or eh-pi-gi-know-sys.

Preceptaustin.org says this about epignosis. Epignosis is a strengthened or intensified form of “gnosis” and conveys the thought of a more full, larger and thorough knowledge. It also conveys the idea of an intimate and personal relationship than the simple term. Full, perfect, precise knowledge thus signifying a more complete, more thorough, larger knowledge than that found in gnosis.

I highly recommend a Word study on these two words.

Hebrews 8:10 says, “For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:”

Now, how is He going to do that? Through His only beloved (God’s love) Son Jesus. When I turned my heart by His grace and His initiation Christ showed me that He tore the veil to the Holy of Holies. He is the High Priest and has been so forever! The Holy of Holies is where we have total communion, union, relationship, fellowship, intimacy, eternal transformation, power, love, confidence, grace, and of course more. There is always more with a God who is immortal, eternal, omnipotent, etc. He is bigger than big. Picture the universe inside you. He is bigger than that! Colossians 1:16 says, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

So, as those who are in Christ grow in this epignosis and grace of Him they become more saved or more whole/complete in their spirit, soul, and body. Paul said he was renewed daily in his inner man. I’ve noticed when I receive revelation and have a life experience I use the revelation or the revelation uses me to resolve the situation. The particular experience is now written on my heart and ever-etched in my mind. The experience is archived in us in present tense. The experience is “now” all the time. Hebrews says, “Now, faith…” Also, I see that revelation comes very naturally. Ephesians 4:7, “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” The revelation is given because of grace. It doesn’t come from outer space though. Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Just like the photosynthesis of a plant. The plant doesn’t jump up and down demanding the sun to shine. The plant receives what it needs from the sun because it is the nature of the sun to be the sun and shine. Back to the experience. The experience NEVER goes away. It compounds, re-establishes, reinforces, and is quickened with other experiences. The revelation of Christ is exponential, boundless, and infinite. Prior to living hundreds of years, trees never died and neither did we (prior to the Fall.) My point is the tree is ever-growing and stretching its branches and roots. Also, what God engraves into the hearts of men does not go away. It is eternal. The engraving itself is eternal. Paul talks about godliness profiting in the life to come. Jesus says His word lasts forever. Peter says the Word is an incorruptible seed. This seed is Christ and is in those who believe He is who He is. He is the revelator and oracle in us.

  • Ticket please

Did Jesus die for a free ticket to heaven? Is that why He died? Is that the only reason? In my opinion, “NO.

The bible says, we go from glory to glory and faith to faith. These describe a maturation process. The word salvation means “to make whole.” In 1 Thess. 5:23, Paul says, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” During the course of salvation we are sanctified. In this process of sanctification, we grow in our wholeness in Him. We become more whole and complete. At salvation our spirit is immediately made whole and quickened by grace through the Holy Spirit. The revelation of this quickening affects the soul or person of an individual. In turn, the quickening affects the body. Healing, deliverance, radical change in personality/lifestyle, redemption, and numerous other things occur because of the death of His cross for us.

    Romans 5:17 says,
“For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

Paul calls Christ the Last Adam. Christ says He is the First and the Last.

So, salvation is not just a ticket, but an adventure of growing whole in Him more so everyday. We are saved over and over and over again unto fullness in Him.

    2 Corinthians 4:16 says,
“Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Also, creation longs for the revealing of the sons of God. It longs for redemption.

    Romans 8:19,
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.”

So, He died to REDEEM ALL CREATION. ALL CREATION. Not just earth. Every planet, star, galaxy, universe, and molecule everywhere. That every knee should bow and declare Him LORD of LORDS and KING of all KINGS!

    Ephesians 1:10,
“that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth–in Him.”

A brother in Christ told me once, “I would serve Jesus even if I were going to hell.” When he told me that my thought was, “Huh? I don’t get it.” That is the point. We serve Christ because we have an exceedingly strong desire to do so not because of a free ticket to heaven. The bible speaks of inheritance. The bible also speaks of those escaping by the skin of their teeth or as one who escapes the flames. Not much inheritance there, but that is not the reason to serve Him either. Service unto Him is because of who He is. That is more than enough reason. Even the reason to serve Him is not of ourselves, but it is the faith of Him in us to serve Him, Gal. 2:20.

There is a contrast between preaching Christ and the ministry of the Word. Both are seen in the book of Acts. The free, gracious, heavenly ticket is preaching Christ and the need for Him to save you from hell and really you. Note, hell is a place prepared for the enemy not man, Matt. 25:41. The ministry of the Word is infusing the Word of Christ into the believer into discipleship.

The root word, “manthano“, for disciple means the following:

    1. to learn, be apprised
      • to increase one’s knowledge, to be increased in knowledge
      • to hear, be informed
      • to learn by use and practice
    2. to be in the habit of, accustomed to

In my opinion, discipleship is part of salvation. It is not a robotic, religious, churchy, unfulfilled experience, but so much more the opposite. I see people being disciples of a lot of things. Usually, it is that which is most important to their heart.

    Proverbs 14:12 (NIV),
There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.”

    Proverbs 19:21 (NIV),
” Many are the plans in a
man‘s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

    Psalms 37:4 (NIV),
    “Delight yourself in th
e Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

Salvation is more than a ticket to heaven.

  • Follow the bouncing ball

Click here for the physics of a bouncing ball.

    Excerpt:
The ball stores this work/energy as a deformation of its elastic surface and a compression of the air inside the ball. The ball then rebounds from the table as this stored energy reemerges as kinetic energy in the ball.”

So, I was bouncing a ball today and this popped in my head. How? I thought about it and dug around a little on the internet.

The ball absorbs and converts the energy applied to it. Hopefully I am saying this correctly. The ball is a medium so to speak of the energy applied to it. My energy (me throwing the ball) acts as the catalyst and initiates the process. I bet if I were in space and I bounced the ball in zero gravity (or no resistance/friction) the ball would move indefinitely. The harder I bounced the ball or more energy applied to the force of my throw I believe would increase acceleration. The distance would not change which is infinite. I picture a space craft traveling through space and at different stages a booster will fire off and increase the acceleration. Einstein said that time slows down as an object approaches the speed of light. This starts to go into the theory of relativity which is where I’m going.

    Isaiah 28:10 says,
“For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little:”

    John 1:16-17 says,
“And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

    Colossians 2:9 says,
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”

I’ve noticed as I’ve grown in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ that revelation reaffirms and intertwines with other revelation on a micro- to macroscopic scope of cognizance. This reminds me of the Isaiah scripture. The revelation of Him compounds itself and its growth is eternally exponential. Hence, grace for grace unto infinite fullness in Him by Him in us.

In Ephesians 3:8, Paul speaks of the “unsearchable riches of Christ.” I interpret this as no bounds, limitations, or finite end to what Christ has done for us and His creation.

This revelatory knowledge of Him enters our inner man with it’s purpose and does not return void. The knowledge of Him could be energy, His energy. In Colossians 1:29 Paul says, “ Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” This supernatural knowledge of Christ deposited into Paul and worked in him like a dynamo which is where the word “power” comes from in the Greek. “And you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you”, Acts 1:8. A dynamo is power reproducing power. A reoccurring pattern in nature I see of this power is the nuclear power of the sun. Nuclear power is created because of the nature of a star over and over again. There is an exceeding power towards those who believe, Eph. 1:19. This power that is created by the knowledge of Him. This power gives ability to bear His fruit, say no to p0rn/perversion, quit smoking, quit cocaine, no to desire to participate in foul language even, raise the dead, grow new limbs, change personality and not modify it, cast out demons, see the future, experience pure joy, run with all endurance, authority over all death, and the list goes on.

There seems to be a lot happening when a ball is bounced.

  • Too bad you’re not humble like brother or sister so-in-so

To right is an artificial palm tree. Things are not always what they seem to appear at first glance.

    Col. 2:18
“Let no man beguile (umpire) you of your reward in a voluntary humility (self-abasement) and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind…” Appearance of godliness, 2 Tim. 3:5. Menpleasers, eyeservice, Eph. 6:6; Col. 3:22.

Beguile also means “to be an umpire towards”. Voluntary humility is very different from the humility of Christ.
    Phil. 2:5-8
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
The mind of Christ, 1 Cor. 2:16.
Col. 3:10, renewed in the knowledge of the Creator according to the original pattern.
Gal. 1:12, the revelation of Christ in us. The revealing of Him and of His “mind” in us.
2 Pet. 3:18, growing and maturing in this knowledge and grace of Him.

“Voluntary humility” in other scripture translations is also called false humility, self-denial (performed by self and not Christ), asceticism, self-abasement, and “doing his own will in humility”.

Galatians 2:13 gives a great example of this “voluntary humility”. Personally, I call it dead religion, works, another gospel (Gal. 1:16), non-inspiring, lifeless, Pseudo-Christianity, deception, and absolutely undesirable. For the longest time, I thought this was true Christianity. I would try and try and try…I and fall, and fall, and fall…I would become more and more frustrated and hopeless trying to fulfill this walk by voluntary humility, self-denial, and so on hoping Jesus would look down because I thought He or the Father didn’t notice me unless I was tap dancing or hopping one foot for Jesus with my W.W.J.D. hat (I never wore a W.W.J.D. hat and pray to God I never will.) W.W.J.D. hat’s mean “What would Jesus do?” This is based on human presumption and intellect possibly mixed with Truth at best. In turn, the results of decisions based on W.W.J.D. are similar to Las Vegas casinos because God is a gambler you know (just a joke.) If one is wearing such a hat though that is what I am led to believe that God is part of the mob and watches C.S.I. Las Vegas. That His will is arbitrary. This leads to what doctrine the individual is basing their walk on?

Paul says in Romans 6:17, “but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” The form (or pattern/blueprint) of doctrine is sound doctrine. Sound doctrine firmly establishes, roots, and grounds the believer to be immovable IN Christ because you are more convinced of the revelation of Him than you are of the air you breathe. This sound doctrine germinates the humility of Christ. Otherwise, it is something else as previously described. So, true, authentic, sincere, real humility is Christ in you. Jesus did Phil. 2:5-8 on the basis of God’s love. Paul says, “the love of God compels us.” The revelation of Him is His love. John says in 1 John 4:19, “We love him, because he first loved us.” I started this journey of knowing Him and His love on a Capital Metro bus 20 years ago. On the bus, I asked Him, “If you are who people say you are show me?” I began to cry uncontrollably and knew I was different and never to be the same. This was the germination of Him in me. Peter, Paul, and elsewhere throughout the Word He is spoken of as the incorruptible seed. The seed must be watered with sound doctrine. From the incorruptible seed will grow a real tree.

    Psalms 1:3
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

  • Rip Current

At times in my walk I have perceived what I could only describe as a spiritual current or undertow.
    See
    rip current or undertow.

    Ezekiel 47
    Ezekiel 47:5
Afterward he measured a thousand; [and it was] a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.”

There a 7 baptisms. Three that are pertinent are the baptism into Christ when you are saved, baptism by water, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Ezekiel saw a river which depth was ankle, knee, waist deep and then it was a river that could not be passed. Romans 6 says we are baptized or immersed into Christ’s death. Immersion or baptism here means “to be drowned.” I have been drowned in Him, Gal. 2:20.

The other day my family and I went down a “lazy river.” What I noticed was it was very difficult to go against the current and would become tiresome and eventually wear me out. The river constantly moved. It was alive. It did not stop. When I sat in the tube the river took the tube and me along with it. I am not saying to sit in a tube and let the river take you listlessly. In the context of Romans 6, the river drowns you and you die. The power of the river takes over and afterwards you arise from the river a new creature. Jesus says, “Rivers of living water will flow from your belly.” Revelation speaks of a river in the New Kingdom.

Isaiah talks about mounting up with wings as eagles. Ephesians talks about being filled with the Spirit. These are external forces. The wind creating lift for the eagle. Negative pressure created from an airfoil enables the sailboat to move. The overpowering current of the river is an external force. Gravity is an external force. The power of the sun is an external force. Ephesians 1:19 speaks of “the exceeding greatness of His power towards those who believe.” There is an inexhaustible, unlimited resource of power by faith through grace towards those who believe in Christ Jesus.

  • His will

His will is good, well-pleasing and perfect (Rom. 12:1-). It is not arbitrary.
His will is that all men be saved (or be made whole spirit, soul, body). (1 Tim. 2:4)

    –adjective

    1. subject to individual will or judgment without restriction; contingent solely upon one’s discretion: an arbitrary decision.

    2. decided by a judge or arbiter rather than by a law or statute.

    3. having unlimited power; uncontrolled or unrestricted by law; despotic; tyrannical: an arbitrary government.

    4. capricious; unreasonable; unsupported: an arbitrary demand for payment.

    5. Mathematics. undetermined; not assigned a specific value: an arbitrary constant.

It is His will. His will is Truth.

On the other hand, I have a free-will to decide who will I serve.

As I grow IN Him, my will becomes His will by the revelation Him through faith by grace.

His decisions are always good, well-pleasing and perfect.

He cannot lie and does not change His mind (ever).

His decisions cannot be malicious, chaotic, inadequate, or indecisive because it is not in His nature. (1 Cor. 13)

His will for Truth, goodness, well-pleasing (by faith), and perfection(maturity and fullness in Him) is in me.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence/proof of things not yet seen.

Jesus is the only begotten Son in whom the Father is well pleased.

When the Father spoke this He did not change His mind and will not. He can only speak that which is True.

His will is in those who have been immersed or baptized INTO Him. His will grows in the “immersed” by faith through grace.

    His will is His will.
