  • Things above and things below

Colossians 3:1-3 (WEB), “If ye then be raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead (to the guilt and penalty of the law), and your life is hid with Christ in God (through revelation of Him in you, Gal. 1:16). ”

Setting our affection, Greek “phroneo”, by grace and revelation on things above is not being under law. Putting our affection on things below can put us back under law or entangle, Gal. 5:1. Sin will then use the guilt and judgment of the law as a basis of attack against the believer, Rom. 7:11. “..The letter kills” 2 Cor. 3:6.

By faith and grace, our affections and motive changes supernaturally, Rom. 12:-1-3. We become who we really are who since the before the foundations of the earth, Eph. 1:4-5, Rom. 8:29, Col. 3:10. He who is dead is freed from the guilt and penalty of the law, Rom. 6:7. The freedom that Truth (Col. 1:5-6) brings liberates us from the old person into a new creation bearing His fruit, 2 Cor. 5:17. No self-help book can do this with our conscience per design. Only His pure, holy, precious sacrificial blood can purge our conscience from dead works and the co-knowledge of the judgment and guilt of the law or self-imposed law in our hearts.

  • When does the word of God work?

When it is truth and revelation and you believe it is from God. It will fulfill its purpose. Real Word is unable to return void because it is not empty and it is real. I believe the purpose of the word is the will of the Sender.

1 Thess. 2:13, “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh (His power working in us…) also in you that believe.

1 John 5:15 (YNG), “And this is the boldness that we have toward Him, that if anything we may ask according to his will, He doth hear us,”

How can I know His will? We have understanding by faith, Heb. 11:3. Revelatory understanding is quickened into our soul unto woven-experience. The substance of His will1 becomes us, Acts 17:28 “For in him we live, and move, and have our being..” James says in James 2:21-23, “Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”

1substance of His will: Hebrews 10:1. “The Aramaic New Covenant A Literal Translation & Transliteration” ISBN 0 963 1951 6 6. Blog, The substance of His will

Romans 1:5 speaks of obedience unto faith. This is by grace. This faith in us motivates us unto righteousness, Rom. 6:16. It is His faith in us, Gal. 2:20. He does the work in us, Phil. 2:13. This work is not dead, but good, Eph. 2:10. I believe we are rewarded for good works which are based on real motive.

Rom. 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

When this word, grace, truth and faith I am empowered to believe and know things that are not seen. Why? Because the word in me is more real than the circumstances that surround me. The Lord said, “I am the Truth.” John said, “HE came full of grace and truth.” This truth is undeniably true and effects all around it. In Him, is all the fullness of the Godhead, truth and grace.

    Eph. 1:10, “in regard to the dispensation of the fulness of the times, to bring into one the whole in the Christ, both the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth — in him;

  • My son praying for understanding

This has been in my drafts for almost two years. Wow.

“12/06/08, Aaron praying for understanding for Lego’s I think? He is only 6 years old.”

Too cool. Over the years, I have taught my sons to pray and believe that there is a God and He does have a Son and His name is Jesus. That the Bible is a good book. That God’s love is more powerful than anything else on this planet. I have taught them to pray for help in school studies, when they lose a toy, healing, for rain, and the list goes on. I recall seeing my son praying for understanding to help him figure out his Lego’s. I enjoy helping them when we build their toy projects, but am so proud when they figure it out on their own. I was humbled and so proud of him. Now, I catch him still. Both of them. My hearts desire is for them have a growing relationship with Christ and to know He loves them.

  • Anxious for nothing

Started this blog one year ago. Wow. 08/13/09.

This builds on Spiritual substance deposit

The word “patience” in Rom. 5:4 means “thoughts without anxiety” in the Aramaic New Testament.

Paul seems to say it again in Philippians:

Phil. 4:6-7, “6 BE anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Young’s Literal Translation,”For nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer, and by supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God;”

I cannot BE if I am anxious and set my affection on natural things rather than spiritual, Col. 3:1-3.

His peace umpires the motive of my heart. He IS peace, Eph. 2:14. My motive is renewed and sanctified by the power of the Holy Spirit, grace and revelation according to hearing the word of truth in the scripture.

As peace umpires my heart I am not anxious or compelled by self-imposed law or fear, but grace and His willingness to do good works because I want to not because of a religious curriculum or mandate.

  • “Into”

Rom. 3:21-22, “But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to or INTO all and on all who believe.

The word “to” in ‘to all’ can also mean INTO.

His righteousness can go into all and on all who believe. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of truth. Abraham believed God and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.

  • What is glory? idk

Of course it is more, but here it goes. Here is the definition of the Greek word for glory. Any language limits God’s attributes. Big is smaller than the smallest word in God’s dictionary. God knew of a 12,978,189 long digit prime number that took us 12 years to discover with computers, One New Man.

Glory1 (1391) (doxa [word study] from dokeo = to think or recognize) means to give a proper opinion. The basic idea in the word doxa is that of manifestation.

Paul said we even glory in tribulation because of the revelation of Christ in us and the Hope of Glory in us. This glory is a manifestation from the effect and diffusion of grace, truth and revelation of the word.

“To think or recognize”. What is recognized?

    • recognize: to perceive as existing or true; realize

Truth IS. He is Truth. Truth is real and creates recognition because it IS and exists and gives purpose. Truth separates from all that is not truth or real. In the end, only truth will be recognized. My identity is hid in Truth and reality.

  • A Father’s influence in a child’s life

John 5:19, “Then Jesus answered and said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.’ ”

1 Cor. 4:15, “For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet [have ye] not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

1 John 1:2, “(For the life was manifested, and we have seen [it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)”

    Father facts:

    • 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (Source: U.S. D.H.H.S., Bureau of the Census)
    • 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
    • 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders come from fatherless homes (Source: Center for Disease Control)
    • 80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger come from fatherless homes (Source: Criminal Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26, 1978.)

    • 85% of all youths sitting in prisons grew up in a fatherless home (Source: Fulton Co. Georgia jail populations, Texas Dept. of Corrections 1992)
  • What are you hearing?

Hebrews 3:12, “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;”

Hebrews 3:19, “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”

Faith comes by hearing. You can only believe what you hear. Are you sure you are hearing what you are hearing?

Paul speaks of hearing the trumpet in 1 Corinthians 14:8, “For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?”

Some battles are not our battles. The enemy wants us to fight ourselves. Those fights are based on vain imaginations. Reminds me of our dog Lupe when she chases her tail. Does she really need to do that? Perhaps it gives her purpose.

  • I am at rest if I BE

    Previous blog, Spiritual hereditary rest

I enter His rest BEing in Him,

Hebrews 4:1, “The promise to enter the place of rest is still good..”

    • Rest: κατάπαυσις or katapausis. It means “a putting to rest” or “calming of the winds.”
    • kata means “to diffuse.”
    • pausis or the root, pauo, means:
      • to make to cease or desist
      • to restrain a thing or person from something
      • to cease, to leave off

A engine is at rest in an automobile when it is running. It is not trying to be the engine, but IS. Is being and doing what it was created to be by the Designer.

A tree is a rest by being a tree.

A chair is a rest when someone sits in it.

A baseball is at rest when the pitcher is throwing the ball and the ball is being hit by the batter or caught by the catcher.

Thank you Lord for your rest.

  • Like a tree..

A tree passively resists the storms that come and go by BEING a tree. It is being what is was created to be. If I BE in the storm like the tree I still BE (incorrect grammar, correct meaning) after the storm passes. I abide in the hope of righteousness as a branch in the True Vine and I BE.

A tree exists and BE’s through the following:

    • Freely Gives Effortlessly
      • oxygen
      • fruit
      • shade
    • Receives Naturally
      • carbon dioxide, nutrients, water, sunlight
    • Grows
      • converts food into itself and energy (transforms)
      • bears fruit (sustains life)
      • gives life (oxygen)
      • deepens and extends its roots (establishes itself naturally)

I believe the tree does all of these things according to the will of the Father.

    • Eph. 1:11, “who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”
    • Col. 1:17, “And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”
    • Phil. 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:”

    Psalms 1:1-6

1Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. 3He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth  its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper. 4The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. 5Therefore the ungodly shall  not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”
