  • Overcompensating..

Today, 10/05/10, I was talking to a good friend of mine, Marcus. We were discussing form on bench press. He told me that he’s been lifting weights for quite a while and asked me about my form on bench press. What he said he discovered was that his form was not quite right. That he used more of his arm strength rather than isolating his chest muscles. Once he got the right form he felt the muscles in his chest do more work.

I believe the question is where is focus and perspective? If my doctrine is not sound or hygienic doctrine producing good spiritual health then the results or fruit will reflect that doctrine. I am reminded of a previous blog, Protuberance. A protuberance is an encumbrance, extra weight or burden. The guilt and judgment of the law on my heart is a protuberance. Paul says in 1 Thess. 3:13, “..so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father..” In Christ, there no longer any charge reckoned to my account, Rom. 8:1.

If a charge is laid to my account there could be a tendency to overcompensate. I believe I overcompensate because of my perspective which is based on my understanding. Hebrews 11:3 says we have understanding by faith, “Through faith we understand..”

This faith reckons righteousness to our accounts in Him, Gal. 3:6. I believe the words coming forth from God through Christ by His Holy Spirit by grace. This belief effects my being and changes me if I believe, Eph. 1:19. His power manifests by grace and faith. If there is no power then what am I believing? What is my form? What am I overcompensating? Why am I overcompensating? Is God calling me to overcompensate in His rest, Heb. 4:9.

  • New word received..

How did Paul receive new word? By grace and revelation.

Rom. 11:29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

Gal. 1:12, “For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught [it], but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Eph. 3:3, “..how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already,”

Gal. 2:2, “And I went up by revelation..”

  • How does revelation sound sometimes?

    • It could sound like something you have never heard before. Not of this creation.
      • John 7:46, “The officers answered, Never man spake like this man.”
    • It deeply stirs the inner-most part of our being.
      • Luke 24:32, “And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”
    • It could even sound too good to be true. So why believe it? “Too simple, even easy. There has to be a catch. Loop hole.”
      • Acts 13:41, “Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.”

John 14:24, “He who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

John 3:17-18, “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.”

Religion kills and condemns. The letter kills, 2 Cor. 3:6. The Spirit gives His Life, Rom. 8:1-2. Revelation imparts His will, love and life.

  • As the word grows…the church grows

Revelation caused grow by grace by the Spirit of God.

Acts 6:7, “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.”

Increased is “augment” in imperfect tense. Imperfect tense meaning to augment over and over again.

Prior to Acts 6:7. The apostles gave themselves over continually to prayer and the ministry of the word. This tells me there is a need for the office and function of the apostle for church growth. That is how it grew in Acts. Why has this changed? Has it? Eph. 4:11-16

Acts 6:4, “But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.”

Acts 12:24, “But the word of God grew and multiplied.”

  • Glorification

True fathers in the Lord are needed in the Church and not just anecdotal instructors. A father imparts his energy, love and life as well as revelatory instruction. In love, a father imprints himself, even his essence (Heb. 1:3), as a repeated pattern on his children for their sake and future generations.

Here is an attempt at a brief dive into what His essence could be.

Glory (1391) (doxa from dokéo = to think or suppose) means to give a proper opinion of, in this case a proper opinion of God. Glory then is the true apprehension of God. The glory of God means His unchanging essence, what He is essentially, the totality of His perfection. God is glorified when He is allowed to be seen as He really is.

2 Cor. 3:18, “and we all, with unveiled face, the glory of the Lord beholding in a mirror, to the same image are being transformed, from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

When I read “unveiled face” this tells me that glory cannot be revealed if fear is there. Fear is not intrinsic to the essence of His glory.

In Christ, we are flesh becoming logos or word. Gal. 4:19 says, “…until Christ be formed in you..” The essence of this logos is being partaken of by grace and through grace, faith and revelation.

  • His faith is my employer

No layoff or off-shoring from this employer.

1 Thess. 1:3, “Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;”

Remembering your WORK of His faith. The word work also means employ. His grace and faith employs me!

    • employ1:
      • to occupy or devote (time, energies, etc.)
      • to make use of (an instrument, means, etc.); use; apply: to employ a hammer to drive a nail.

Phil. 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:”

Phil. 2:13, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure.”

Tie this with His power working in us…

Greek paraphrase Phm 1:6: That the fellowship (indescribable intimate union and bond) of your (His) faith may become godly life-energy by the revelatory knowledge of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

  • Newness is always now

Quote from Fission of the Word in us,

“The newness1 of the word is in present pluperfect tense. It is always NOW in us.”

He was and is and is to come. How? He is the Most High. Something or someone that is not time-dependent is really always NOW. It has to be. What else would it be? So, the fruit we are bearing and His nature are the fruit of the Spirit. The Spirit is His Spirit. His Spirit is not time-based either. This is newness of life. Christ is our life. He said, “I am the way, truth and the life.” He is newness of life in us. The Father sent His son into our hearts crying as adult children, “Abba, Father.”

I recall a while back I was I praying in the Spirit and the thought dawned upon me, “I am praying outside of time.” How is that possible? It is His Spirit in the believer. He and His Spirit exists outside of this creation and cosmos in eternity. Now, His Spirit was sent to our hearts. This also lines up with “now”. Now, is always now. Present pluperfect tense. It seems “now” is always new. The word says the Last Adam, Christ, is a quickening Spirit.” Our spirit man is quickened with zoe, godly, eternal life. Our soul person partakes of His life and is quickened and sanctified. Our flesh is effected by the quickened soul.

So, what is the takeaway? The practical application. I believe “now” does not hinge on me. What I do or perform will manifest in time. Therefore, my works cannot be “now”. They are dead works. Good works last. His righteousness endures forever. We are partakers and inheritors of the Divine nature. “Now” effects my motive and willingness in the deepest part of my being pulling me away from works motivated unto death that cannot bring fulfillment. Only His faith in me can fulfill and establish all the law. This faith, hope and love are also “now” in Him in the believer by grace and revelation of hearing and hearing His word.

“Now” cannot worry about yesterday or tomorrow because it is now. Truth is now and reality.

  • Abiding word

John 5:38, “”But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.”

His word and spirit abides and dwells by grace not by me. He reveals Himself in me not according to my strife. His word abides in us by grace and faith.

Eph. 3:17, “That Christ may dwell (or intrinsically dwell, live, reside, be a part of, or just BE) IN your hearts (deepest part of your being) by (His) faith..”

The word dwells in us richly and does not leave if it becomes a part of us. Then how can I leave myself? I believe that is what Paul is saying in Ephesians 3:17. The flesh becoming logos or word. Word is spirit. The Holy Spirit enters and changes us through the revelatory word. It refutes, convinces, enlightens, liberates, metamorphosises, delivers, saves, and the list goes on.

My life cannot change if I don’t believe the Messenger. I cannot please God without faith. I cannot live without faith. The just shall live by faith. I cannot grow without faith and grace. The Seed must fall on ground and take root in believing in one’s heart in order to sprout and bear fruit.

  • Kind disposition

Romans 10:1 Paul says, “my heart’s desire and prayer.”

Desire (2107) (eudokía [word study] from eu = well, good + dokeo = think) defines the state of being kindly disposed, and so refers to benevolence, good will, or pleasure. Paul is saying my earnest and sincere wish. Vincent says it is more literally “the good will of my heart.”. Young’s Literal rendering is interesting – “the pleasure indeed of my heart“.1

Even if the desire is in us for good and the benefit of others then it seems even the willingness has an effect, Rom. 5:17. I believe we will it into existence through grace, faith and prayer. According to the flesh, which no flesh shall glory in His presence, Michael Jordan did it with the Chicago Bulls and led them to six world championships. God willed creation and it is. It is His will in us. He spoke things into existence at creation and during His ministry. He created peace and righteousness in Himself in His flesh. The things of God are eternal, real and substantial. Things that are lies are not. Lies are non-truths. Truth is reality. Even our untrue thoughts are less real than His truth in us! Otherwise, there WOULD BE condemnation in Christ, Rom. 8:1. It does not hinge on our motive, but His grace and faith in us.

Isaiah 14:24, “The Lord Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.”

Eph. 1:11, “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:”

Rom. 12:21, “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”

This willingness or His motive inside of me towards me is good. Good in Hebrew is the opposite of evil. Evil means dysfunctional in Hebrew. Now, in Christ, His motive in me is functional for my good and by love for the good of others and the planet. His willingness inside of me is kindly disposed all the time towards me. I love myself, others and Him as He has loved me because He is love. He is good.

  • Outlook changes when Jesus comes..

“How the outlook changes when Jesus comes!”” No.9 Highlighting the saints – Smith Wigglesworth

    https://www.mychurch.org/blog/494404/no9-highlighting-the-saints—smith-wigglesworth

Christ changes our outlook, perspective and reality. He is truth. What is not truth in our lives, heart and minds is removed to leave only truth and light. Then our outlook is changed by freedom, grace and truth. Rom. 12:1-3, Rom. 5:21.

Galaltians 5:1, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
