  • Earth suit

Not sure how this one popped in my brain, but I actually stopped my work while I was working because the light of the reality of it caught me off guard. I know I’ve been reading stuff about the brain. Saw a show last night on PBS about training the brain. Eh. So, I’m at my desk and this thought comes to mind how my body, my flesh, my earth suit is trying to tell me what to do. It was like I heard it or saw the dynamic. Hmmm, this morning I was thinking this too; the contrast between the fleshly mind of Colossians 2 and the MIND OF CHRIST in Corinthians. Glory 🙂 Almost immediately after this brief light of revelation verses came to mind,

Romans 7:23, “but I see another law at work in the members of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my members.”

Galatians 5:17, “For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.”

Makes more sense now. Its like I was shown in great depth at a glance how a math equation works then show the black characters on paper. My paraphrase of my experience of seeing this from a different perspective would be that this earth suit tries to have a mind of its own. Its literally and intrinsically prior to Christ hell-bent and cannot help itself. No fig leaf can fix it. Only the holiest of all blood in all creation can purchase it back. The other thing I saw was my inner man. I believe my spirit is (for a lack of terms) encapsulated around my soul. When rhema comes from the Holy Spirit it affected my whole being in this instance. The Spirit of God quickened this, unveiled it to my spirit, in turn this affected my soul. My soul then remembered verses. My body reacted by being fearful of something somewhat alien yet very real by jerking back in my seat. I recall on the road to Emmaus the two men who saw the resurrected Christ (whom they did not recognize) and after they He spoke with them the told each other,”They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning1 within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32. The word “burning” means pretty much that. To set on fire. His words set their hearts on fire. Praise God for the Word that He speaks from His throne directly into our hearts. Something happened today. Good stuff.

  • Lifespan of a thought

I was reading a old blog, https://nu-wine.org/?p=3692. And now, a verse comes to mind, Rom. 8:6, “For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace.”

He is peace. He is our peace. He dwells in us by His faith and grace according to revelation by hearing and hearing the word of truth. Ok… What I saw was when a variant of a vain imagination crosses my physical, fleshly mind that thought will dissipate and through my experience it does. I recall when I have so many times used my liberty as an occasion to the flesh. Everything got old. My thoughts were futile. No purpose. My life had no purpose except to not live, but die, 1 John 3:14.

Essentially, non-rhema thoughts have no power. They are futile and empty. Otherwise, they would truly change my life and I would be God. When quickened word and truth is revealed is comes from eternity. He is Life and Peace. He is in eternity. So, eternity is deposited into my being through the witness of the Holy Spirit to my inner man.

So, when I think a thought or have a vain imagination (fill in the blank), these thoughts have a life span. They are almost not real. Whoa. If they were they would have a real impact. What I mean is a life-changing radical impact unto godliness. That is real change. That is life. If death were real then He should not have resurrected, but that was and is not possible. Paul said we carry around this treasure in jars of clay. He speaks of the unsearchable (untraceable) riches of God. If something is in eternity or its origin is from eternity then how in the world came my little brain search it out to the fullest? There is no end. This is what is deposited into me by His Holy Spirit, Word and grace. Man, God is all-knowing. Duh.

So, why would the above be relevant? It says greater is He in me than he who is in the world. It provides invisible hope manifested in life unto His glory. He is worthy to be praised. So, it seems (my opinion) that the thoughts that go through my mind come from the prince of power of the air, my fleshly mind, my old man, my renewed man and the Spirit of the living God.

This gives a litmus test and expectation to quench the fiery darts of the evil one. It also provides clarity on what is true. The still small voice according to the word of truth.

  • Rom. 6:6

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [Him], that the body of sin might be (passive voice) destroyed (rendered entirely idle, inoperative or ineffective), that henceforth we should not serve sin.”

The old man is powerless, useless, destroyed, done away with, has lost its power, annulled.

    Excerpt1 from www.preceptaustin.org :

Might be done away with (2673) (katargeo [word study] from kata = intensifies meaning + argeo = be idle from argos = ineffective, idle, inactive from  a = without + érgon = work) literally means to reduce to inactivity. The idea is to make the power or force of something ineffective and so to render powerless, reduce to inactivity. To do away with. To put out of use.  To cause to be idle or useless. To render entirely idle, inoperative or ineffective. Cause something to come to an end or cause it to cease to happen. To abolish or cause not to function. To free or release from an earlier obligation or relationship. To no longer take place.

The end of the verse says, “…that henceforth we should not serve sin.” I ask myself why? Paul states why earlier in the verse. If the revelatory truth spoken of earlier in the verse becomes quickened rhema word the desire to serve sin is rendered entirely idle, inoperative or ineffective. Corinthians says the power of sin is the law. We are no longer under the guilt and judgement of the law in Christ for those who walk (willing) after the Spirit of God. Old things have passed the new as come. Jesus said, “Behold, I make all things new.” I believe all things means ALL things which would include even my motive.

  • What is one thing God doesn’t know?

    Here comes heresy……

    “My sin.”

Verses please (line upon line, precept upon precept):

    • Romans 3:20, 5:13, 8:1, 8:33
    • Colossians 2:13-14
    • Ephesians 1:4 (YLT)
    • Hebrews 8:12, 10:17
    • Jeremiah 31:34
  • He said, “Don’t worry”

    December 7th, 2010

Had a scare through a misdiagnosis that Dee Dee had a blood clot. Cat scan was inconclusive. Her doctor said today, “No clots. your ribs are probably sore.” Yesterday, I heard the Lord say, “Don’t worry about it.”

  • He who has an ear hear what the Spirit says…

    https://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/life/human-biology/hearing.htm

This link says that the ear is a mechanical organ versus smell and taste which are chemical. When I read this I thought of when a rhema word is quickened inside. The Holy Spirit quickens the word that is abiding in me. Then co-mingles with my soul. Understanding comes by faith. Faith comes by hearing. My soul then partakes of the nature of the rhema word through spiritual osmosis. This in turn can have an effect on my flesh and its response to grace through the word.

I thought when I say something that is not quickened by God it is an empty word. Jesus said in John 6:63, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”

1 Thessalonians 1:5 says, “…because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. ”

Ephesians 5:6, “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient.”

It seems when words come from the flesh or anything other than the Spirit of God they are truly powerless and empty. How can something empty have power?

Ask the Seven Sons of Sceva, Acts 19:16.

  • Integrity – δόκιμος

    δόκιμος
Huh? What is this? It is the Greek adjective for “approved” or “tried”. It is the root to the Greek feminine noun “experiment”, “proof” or “character” in Romans 5:4. Here is an excerpt from BlueLetterBible.org,

In the ancient world there was no banking system as we know it today, and no paper money. All money was made from metal, heated until liquid, poured into molds and allowed to cool. When the coins were cooled, it was necessary to smooth off the uneven edges. The coins were comparatively soft, and of course many people shaved them closely. In one century, more than eighty laws were passed in Athens to stop the practice of whittling down the coins then in circulation. But some money-changers were men of integrity, who would accept no counterfeit money; they were men of honor who put only genuine, full-weight money into circulation. Such men were called dokimos, and this word is used here for the Christian as he is to be seen by the world. (Donald Grey Barnhouse, Romans: God’s Glory, p. 18.)

Romans 5:1-5 says, “1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we  rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

The Alexander Scouter Greek Lexicon2 says “approvedness”1 or “character”.

Paul says of himself in 1 Timothy 1:12 (NLT), “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him…”

I recently had my son watch his siblings for about an hour and a half recently. I have seen how he is with them over the years and talked it over with my wife and we decided to allow him to watch his younger siblings. Sounds like a small thing to some, but crazy things can happen when kids get together. My son has proven himself in many areas and is a teenager and I trust him. He has integrity and character. I tell my friends and family he is a stand up guy. And that he is. Well, I got home and all of the kids were alive. Everything was good. He did good. I’m proud of him.

I am reminded of another verse, Luke 16:10 (NIV), “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.”

Romans 5:3 says that suffering (literally, “a pressing together”) produces perseverance (literally, “a remaining under”), and remaining under produces approvedness. Approvedness produces hope (passive joyful eager expectation).

So, I rejoice through His faith in me when I am pressed and squeezed in the circumstances of life. When the situations arise I have the opportunity to “remain under”. I heard a preacher say that understanding means first under- or to be “yielding”. If I go under a bridge I am yielding to go under it. -Stand means “to have a position or point of view”. Even an “opinion”. This brother said understanding then is yielding our opinion, Proverbs 3:5.

Once that happens clarity will come unto knowledge (my two cents.) Understanding then is a process of yielding my opinion to God’s will.

How does this tie into Romans 5:3? Hebrews 11:3 says we understanding by faith. His faith not mine by revelation and grace apprehends my will if the word is quickened in me and nurtured. It has a passive affect on my being unto godliness. I stand in this faith with understanding in my time of being squeezed. I am remaining under willfully placing my opinion on God’s holy word and truth. Something happens. The bible says essentially supernatural, spiritual integrity and virtue is created! So, I ask myself and God why? Part of integrity is also consistency otherwise where is the integrity? As I am consistently and sincerely placing or yielding my will and opinion to His based on His quickened word I am growing in integrity. I am bearing the load, but growing in the grace and knowledge of Him.

Hebrews 5:8 says, “Although He (Jesus) was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered…” He learned and acquired and grew in knowledge of the Father, Luke 2:40 (NASB).

Lastly, hope grows. Hope also begins in this process in verse 2. Hope predicates on faith in the grace on which we stand, Rom. 5:2, enabling us to rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

The word the dwells in us richly is in us enabling us to stand by grace. The more pressure to the crucible the more refined and pure the understanding or the yielding of my opinion unto holiness. I am holy because I partake of His divine nature. I am being sanctified more each moment. As I grow in holiness I also grow in integrity.

  • Darrell

Talked to Darrell today during break. I asked him about the speed of light time dilation thing and it finally made sense. He said the closer you get to the speed of light the more you are moving away from the measurement of time while everything else not going at the speed of light continues to stay in time. That makes so much more sense. The catch is mass increases on an infinite level. So, that is the argument among physicists if it is even possible?

If I went at the speed of light to Dallas from Austin it would take 0.001 light seconds. Pretty much instantaneous. 1/1000th of a second or one millisecond. It takes 5 milliseconds for a bee to flaps its wing1 . In a car, driving at 65 m.p.h. it would take 2 hours and 45 minutes. So, I would age 1 millisecond and the driver would age 2.75 hours + preparation + etc. I would venture into a place where time slows down or stops outside of time.

I have read testimonies of NDE’s that say they where not aware of time when they left their bodies. Makes sense. I think this time dilation horse is dead now 🙂

  • The Dilation of Time

Read some more on time dilation1. The closer the speed of light is reached the more that time slows down for the person going the speed of light. For example, traveling at .99999999999999% of the speed of light one day to the person traveling at that speed is equivalent to 19,380 years for the person who is back on earth.

Well, that’s nice. I am reminded of a few scriptures when I read this, 2 Pet. 3:8, 1 John 1:5, 1 Tim. 6:16. He, God the Father, is Light. Not photons, but Light. I have read testimonies of people who are NDE’s2 that have said they have seen Jesus or heaven. They describe Him as a person made of light, Heb. 1:3. He dwells in a place where time is non-existent, but more a reality than here. And that is where our hope is laid up for us, Col. 1:5. Correction it is not stronger reality, but it is reality. He is there. The Truth.

Romans 6:9 says, “Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.” This Christ now lives in us, Rom. 8:9, Gal. 1:16. Peter said we partake of His divine nature, 2 Pet. 1:4. Paul said that he might know Him, Phil 3:8,10. Something happens when rhema comes from the throne room into our spirit co-mingling with our soul. Acts 4:13 says, “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” The Greek word μιμητής, mimētēs, is where we get the word ‘mimic’ from, 1 Cor. 4:6, 1 Cor. 11:1, Eph. 5:1. Jesus said He only did what He saw His Father do. Children naturally mimic their parents. The parent’s attributes, personality and other areas diffuse to their children.

So, if this Christ is in me and death has no power of Him in me then my  spirit is made alive because of righteousness and I partake of Life! The living word is in me and is not affected by things below, Col. 3:1-3. They have an influence if I fall under some sort of law. The influence weakens over time I believe because we grow in the grace and knowledge of Him, 2 Pet. 3:18. If I am growing so is His light. Darkness cannot comprehend light. “Darkness cannot take hold of Light because of its inherent nature.” Now, I am in this earth suit aware of this “speed of light”, His Life and Light. Things of this world are peripheral and temporal. Paul said his body was aging, but inside he was being renewed daily! The more I grow in Him the more closer I get to the speed of light. I wonder why Paul said Phil. 3:10? I think Jesus walked on the water because He was more real (naturally speaking) than the water. This is the potential metamorphoo3 for the believer according to His living word, Phil. 3:21. Romans says He was the Last Adam. Another Greek word, tupos, or pattern. He is the pattern for us. The First Born among many brethren. Amen.

  • Dead bird

The other day I was walking to my car and I saw a dead bird on the street. Since I enjoy talking to dead birds I said to it, “The law has no power over you anymore.” I guess it was one of those days 🙂

Today, 09/26/12, this exploded in my spirit as quickened word. I am reminded of Romans 7 and Colossians 3. I realized that a dead man is no longer dominated by the influence of time. (This sounds hilarious as I proof read it.) Duh.

I saw that the law judges those who trespass it in this time who have a defiled conscience that is time based. Prior to eating the pomegranate, Adam was not aware of time and neither was his conscience. After eating it, he created time and brought death through sin, Rom. 5:12. https://nu-wine.org/?p=3649

Paul says, that we are not under condemnation for those who live  according to the Spirit. Where is the Spirit? In eternity, outside of time. This is hard to explain a little, but I need to write this out. We partake of His death, Col. 3, Rom. 7 and Rom. 6. If this is true, then there is no condemnation. Makes sense. Paul goes into more detail on greasy grace in Romans 6 and thereafter. The law truly leads us to Christ. I am reminded of time dilation,

    https://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/slowing-time-to-a-standstill-with-relativity.html

If the above so far is true then it seems to align with time dilation. So, according to Einstein, what is moving at the speed of light? There has to be an enlightenment or awareness of such information? I believe it is His word that is a lamp to my feet which comes from God who dwells in unapproachable light. And I am a child of light. His light is in me through His grace, faith, word and revelation.

    https://nu-wine.org/?p=2050

Heresy now, even the judgment and penalty of the law is relative to the light of His finished work on the cross. Yes, burn me at the stake. Glory! For the geeks, at the speed of light, time stops. The law has to have time to judge. To a dead person, time has stopped or even non-existent. To a person created in light, time is relative to the speed a of light. In Christ, we are not who we were, 2 Cor. 5:17. Also, this is all naturally speaking of course. He is more than theories. In Him, ALL the fullness of the GODHEAD dwells bodily. What does that mean? That hurts my head.
